Everyone else in my family that goes on facebook still has the left sidebar chat pics... All it shows is the friends who are actually online, which is obviously a lot shorter list.

Question - I still have little chat box bottom right like it used to be about 2 months ago - but more recently it was just one long list of friends down right hand side - now it's gone back to little box bottom right??

 

I've noticed it's sort of reverted to how it was, just showing those who are on line, rather than all those who you communicate with most frequently. The difference is that it only shows those who are available for chat, with the green dot against their name. The old blue half Moon shown against those who were on line but didn't want to chat, has disappeared. On the bottom rhs there should be a 'Chat' box, click on that. Your not alone - the 'friends list' on facebook is acting strange lately. I have an old female school mate on there, yesterday I saw her on my friends list, I thought I'd message her to ask how she is and 2 hours later, she'd vanished, then 30 minutes after that - her pic returned again. Just realised that on IE9, Chrome and the updated version of FIrefox I only have the little chat box at bottom of screen, and need to click on the cog to change my status to available. On the older version of FF and IE7 and 8 I have the long list of friends with pics on the right hand side, where you either click on the word available or on the little cog.

I have got an problem in the Piece where my sidebar has disappeared. While zooming out, the chat bar list is being rebuilt apparently. If you have confirmed that the option I described above is checked and the folder pane is still not showing move your mouse to the left margin of the window and when it turns into a double headed arrow, click and drag to the right. If your Internet is slow you may get the problem of Sidebar in Facebook. If i open my message window two talk bubbles in the top left corner i just get a blank screen, only with the facebook sol at the usual place. That's not what mine looks like. I use Iceweasel for chatting now :. I am trying to get those buttons back.
